    Police remanded in custody of r@ping teenager in Lagos office

    An OGBA District Court in Lagos State has ordered the 56-year-old police officer DSP Owolabi Akinlolu to be held in the largest correctional center Kirikiri, who is said to be a 17-year-old in his office A year old girl.

    Punch reported that Owolabi, deputy police chief of the Ogudu police station in Lagos, allegedly R@ was ped in his office after promising to help restore the phone, which was stolen by ikeja when she returned from Ikeja. Her grandmother and siblings.

    Akinlolu reportedly called the teenager to his office on June 29, claiming they arrested the suspect who stole the phone two weeks ago. Upon arrival at the police station, senior police officers allegedly raped the teenager by locking his office door behind him.

    In July 2024, the girl’s mother, Mrs. Aramide Olupona, accused police of trying to cover up the case and revealed that the suspect’s wife and family begged her to give up the charges because Akinlolu is scheduled to retire in December 2024.

    At a case hearing on Tuesday, with the support of seven paragraphs of affidavits, prosecutors urged the court to return the defendants, noting that the crime of debauchery violated Article 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Code, 2015.

    In response to the prosecution’s request, District Judge OO Fagboun ordered the defendant to remand in the largest correctional center and postpone the case until March 11, 2025.
