    Police rescue in Kaduna

    Agents from Kaduna State Police Command, together with the Office of National Security Advisors (ONSA), rescued 17 kidnapping victims, recovered 21 fake AK-47 rifles, and neutralized three armed robbers.

    Force public relations officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi revealed this in a statement on Thursday, April 10, 2025, saying police agents also neutralized three armed robbers on the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway.

    He added that the operator of the anti-Kidnapping unit of the order recovered 21 AK-47 rifles from the driver of Kawo Central Motor Park, Jamilu Suleiman.

    “On April 9, 2025, in an extraordinary feat of inter-agency cooperation and strategic intelligent deployment, agents from the Anti-Kidnapping unit of the Kaduna State Police Command, combined with the Office of National Security Advisors (ONSA), successfully rescued 17 victims who were kidnapped from March 3, 2025 from March 3, 2025 with Sarkin Pawa.

    All rescued people were quickly taken to the police clinic in Kaduna for a medical examination and have been certified for stability and health.

    On the same day on April 9, 2025, agents acting on reliable intelligence against anti-kill units intercepted commercial Volkswagen Sharan vehicles at Kaduna Kawo Central Motor Park. After a thorough search, the police discovered the AK-47 rifle hidden in the car 21 steps.

    The suspect was identified as Jamilu Suleiman, a 27-year-old male resident of Kaduna Rafin Guza, who was arrested and is currently in custody. During the preliminary trial, the suspect admitted that union members directed him to transport the gun to an unidentified person in Kaduna. A comprehensive investigation has been conducted to remove the weapons trafficking network and to book all perpetrators.

    In another incident on April 9, 2025, about 0,500 hours, the Police Command received a call in distress from the Good Samaritan reporting on an ongoing armed robbery by Doggi Farm on the Kaduna-Abuja highway.

    The Department Police (DPO) of the TAFA Division quickly mobilized a patrol. Upon arrival, they were engaged to about 30 armed robbers who had earlier invaded the site, a fierce gunfight. During the exchange of gunfire, two robbers were neutralized while others fled to nearby hills.

    Two other injured suspects were arrested and taken to Umaru Musa Yar’adua Memorial Hospital in Sabon Wuse for treatment. Unfortunately, one of them was later confirmed dead while the other was still alive and is currently assisting police in further investigations.

    Efforts are underway to arrest and bring them to justice for the fleeing members of the gang.
