Police told Lagos court how the man beat his 15-year-old stepdaughter, causing two pregnancy loss by her mother

Ikeja S3xual Crime and Domestic Violence Court heard about how Adewunmi Ajayi allegedly engaged in an illegal S3xual relationship with his 15-year-old stepdaughter.

An illegal S3xual attack that began in 2019 led to multiple pregnancy and abortions.

An investigative police officer, Aderinto Foluke, provided evidence on Thursday, April 17, 2025, while Judge Abiola Soladoye, said the suspect had been impregnated with a minor for the third time.

The IPO affiliated to AP No. 287997 of Nigerian Police Human Rights Department testified during the ongoing trial of a couple, Mr. Adewunmi has married the survivor’s mother, Idowu Ajayi

The female inspector told the judge the findings of the so-called S3xual attack.

“We concluded that Mr. Adewunmi has been sleeping with survivors since 2019,” she said.

A prosecutor witness led by state prosecution lawyer Abibat Ogunwemimo told the court that the incident had been reported to the Adnigi Adler police station in Lagos Island, a letter of recommendation from a teacher with a 15-year-old survivor and Alausa.

She further stated that the survivor’s stepfather had been carnal knowledge of the minor, and during the process the survivor had two pregnancys and her mother had a miscarriage.

She claimed the survivors also told them that they were pregnant for the third time for the stepfather.

She said the survivor said she was scared, so she talked to her teacher because her mother claimed she would have miscarried for her again.

The IPO said the couple started trouble when they were arrested by police in 2021.

After the first defendant was arrested, the second defendant Ajayi, his wife, Mrs. Idowu Ajayi, went to the police and they wrote the statement

The prosecutor witness also said: “The survivor also said she did not notice that her stepfather had placed drugs in the tea until her sister saw the remaining particles in the cup.”

The survivor complained to his grandmother, who spoke to his mother again

She said the mother denied it when she was told, but her daughter was taken to the hospital when she complained of stomach pain.

“The girl said she wanted to educate further, which is why she reported to the teacher.

“We gave her a piece of recommendation paper and when it came, she was pregnant.

“We found out that my mother had taken her away twice.”

Under cross-examination by defense attorney Emmanuel Uwadoka, the IPO said she investigated the matter.

But she said she did not visit the crime scene or the hospital

Uwadoka insisted that the survivor told police that something was put in her tea.

She also claimed that during the investigation, she spoke to the survivor’s grandmother by phone.

The court included two statements, a medical referral letter and medical results as an exhibition.

Justice Soradoi adjourned the matter until May 28.
