The Nigerian police force has warned the retreat campaign to demand its proposed April 7 protest nationwide.
The NPF also warned other organizers to put aside planned protests, marking them as “naughty” and “disease timing.”
According to TIB’s national coordinator Juwon Sanyaolu, the protests aim to address issues surrounding alleged abuse of the Cyber Crime Act and the State of Emergency announcement in the Rivers State.

Police said in a statement issued on Sunday by force public relations official Olumuyiwa Adejobi that planned protests were conducted on the same day as National Police Force Day in an attempt to disrespect the force.
Adhobi said the scheduled date has been designated by the federal government to “celebrate the resilience and dedication of officials and soldiers of the Nigerian police force”.
“Although there is no objection to the exercise of rights of citizens in the peace parliament and creation of rights in Nigeria as described in the Constitution, the Nigerian Police Force is deeply concerned about the motivations of such protests by the Nigerian Police Force’s contribution to national security, and will celebrate this challenge to celebrate such a fascinating event, including the rule of all the Pinediers, and the lives of the Ginirs, and the lives of the Ginirs, and the diplomats.
