Senate President Godswill Akpabio said poverty is not a crime and can sometimes be regarded as a virtue.
Akpabio said this while speaking from Rome after attending the funeral of Pope Francis.
“When you look at the Catholic Church, Catholicism is not just a church. The Vatican is also seen as a country. You have the head of state of D!ed, and today is buried… leading 1.5 billion people around the world.
You have a man who is a man today and the Pope has only $100, indicating that we cannot worship God in glory.
The best way to worship God is through self-sacrifice by others. ” he said.
He continued
“The message is clear, Nigerians should love each other. Poverty is not a sin, poverty can sometimes be a virtue, a virtue of God. Whatever you have, you should be able to share it with your siblings, especially during this Easter,
