The power generation reaches 5713 megawatts? TCN

Nigeria’s Transmission Company (TCN) announced that the country’s power generation company hit 5,713.60 MW on Tuesday, March 4.

This is the highest in the past four years ago.

TCN said in a statement that the power sector has achieved a new peak generation in 2025, which has been successfully spread.

It noted that the feat was recorded on Tuesday, March 4, surpassing the 5.543 MW recorded on February 14.

“This was recorded at 21:30 hours on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, with the new generation peaking at 5,713.60 megawatts (MW), surpassing the previous peak generation of 5,543.20 megawatts on February 14, 2025 to reach 170.40 mw,” TCN said. ”

It clarified that while this new peak is 88 MW lower than the all-time maximum peak recorded on March 1, 2021, it remains a significant achievement.

It added that the maximum daily energy source also increased to 125,542.06 MWh, up from the 125,159.48 million tons achieved last month.

“In addition, yesterday, the largest daily energy record in Nigerian power industry history was set, with a total of 125,542.06 megawatt-hours (MWH). The statement added that this exceeded the 382.58 MWH record of 125,159.48 million watts on February 14, 2025,” the statement added.
