President Bola Tinubu has approved the extension of Kemi Nandap’s tenure as auditor-general of the Nigerian Immigration Agency (NIS) until December 31, 2026.
Nandap joined NIS on October 9, 1989 and was appointed Auditor General on March 1, 2024. Her initial term is scheduled to end on August 31, 2025. However, with this new extension, she will continue to hold leadership positions.
In a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy on Monday, Its InthuanugaTinubu praised Nandap’s exemplary leadership and improvements in key areas such as border management, immigration modernization and national security under her watch.
The statement highlights the positive changes that have taken place in NIS since the appointment of Nandap and points to her leadership having made significant progress in the service’s core mission.

President Tinob praised Nandap’s dedication and urged her to continue to focus on strategic priorities that align with the government’s new hope agenda.
The President reiterated his commitment to supporting the NIS mission to protect Nigeria’s borders and ensure safe, legal immigration.
