U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he had a significant reversal of his tariffs on Mexico out of “respect” for the country’s president. On Tuesday, the U.S. imposed 25% tariffs on all goods imported from Mexico and Canada, pushing the country into a trade war. Trump has now announced Mexico will receive a one-month waiver as the country agrees to his conditions to stop the flow of fentanyl through the southern border. “After talking to Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico, I agree that Mexico will not require tariffs on anything the USMCA agreement is subject to,” he said in the Society of Truth. The agreement will last until April 2 and out of respect for Sheinbaum. “Our relationship has always been a good relationship and we are working together on the border, both preventing illegal foreigners from entering the United States and also stopping fentanyl. Thanks to President Sheinbaum for his hard work and cooperation! Meanwhile, Trump swept the Canadian Justin Trudeau. Canada remains a similar exemption. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : ”
