President Donald Trump has confirmed that he will talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin tomorrow about giving up land to Ukraine.
‘I want to [President Putin] Tuesday. Trump revealed that he had done a lot of work over the weekend.
“We want to see if we can end the war,” Trump told Air Force One reporters on Sunday when he returned to Washington, D.C. from Mar-A-Lago, Florida.
He added: “Maybe we can, maybe we can’t, but I think it’s very likely that we can.”
Trump said he plans to discuss potential concessions with Russian leaders about land and power plants.
“I think we’ve already had a lot of discussion about this in both Ukraine and Russia,” Trump continued. “We’re already talking about this…allocating certain assets.”
Last weekend, Trump made bold predictions about Ukraine’s ceasefire agreement.
The 78-year-old president sat down for a pre-strike interview with the Weekly News program, and was asked about his plan that he should not agree to the ceasefire.
Trump replied: “The bad news in this world is because so many people are dying.”
But the president insists Putin will agree to the deal.
“I think he would agree. I really think I know him very well and I think he will agree. Trump told Anchor Sharyl Attkisson.
Trump won’t say in the interview whether he’s talking to Putin recently, but said “we’re dealing with him.”
With Steve Witkoff, the Trump administration’s special envoy, held a meeting with Putin on Thursday in a closed-door meeting as the United States pushes for a ceasefire.
‘It’s positive. It’s a solution-based discussion,” Witkoff told CNN’s ITU on his return Sunday.
He said he expects Trump and Putin to have phone calls “between this week.”
Trump said in an interview that they hope to pass a ceasefire agreement with Ukraine and said “good”.
He advised them to learn more on Monday.
Attkisson pointed out in an interview with the president that he claimed he would carry out the war within 24 hours.
“Well, I’m a little sarcastic when I say that,” Trump replied. “I mean I want to fix it.”
Trump predicts that he thinks he will “success”.
Putin said on Thursday he supported the ceasefire but also outlined the details that would need to be negotiated before a deal was concluded.
