President Donald Trump threatens to impose sanctions and tariffs on Russia until a ceasefire and peace agreement is reached with Ukraine.
“Based on the fact that Russia is currently absolutely ‘attacking Ukraine’ on the battlefield, I strongly consider large-scale bank sanctions, sanctions and tariffs on Russia until a peaceful ceasefire and a final peace agreement reached peace,” Trump wrote on Friday’s truth social platform.

He urged Russia and Ukraine to negotiate immediately, warning: “Before it’s too late, get to the dining table now.”
Trump has repeatedly stated that his purpose is to serve as a “peacemaker” and “mediator” between Russia and Ukraine, which has been in full swing since February 2022.
When Trump speaks in the economic update, does he still believe that Russian President Vladimir Putin is committed to peace. He replied: “I think we are doing very well with Russia. But for the moment, they are bombing the hell of Ukraine.”
He was frustrated by the negotiations and noted: “I find it more difficult to deal with Ukraine” and suggested that ensuring a final peace agreement might be “easier to deal with Russia, which is strange because they have all the cards.”
Trump looks forward to a diplomatic meeting in Saudi Arabia next week, reaffirming his willingness to assist Ukraine but stressing the urgency of a solution.
“They have to play the ball and get the job done,” he said.
