Pro-resistance protests broke out in River State.
Nigeria News Nalin Many women in Rivers State held a rally in the state capital Harcourt on Monday to show support for the state’s declaration of a state of emergency, the report said.
This is just four days after the suspension of the governor’s supporters protested for the resumption of the national leadership.
According to close ruling protesters, the country needs peace, not a troubled governor, opposes previous gatherings.
The placards carried by the women read: “The state of emergency is constitutional”, “There is no tribal war in the river state, no more bhubara”, “We need peace, not fubara”, etc.
Speaking with reporters, he was one of the organizers of the rally and former vice-chairman in the Eche local government area of the state. Gladys Nweke says:
“What we are doing here is supporting the Unity March in the River State Emergency.
“Since the River State Emergency was announced, there has been peace. We no longer hear about the killings and cult activities in the state.”
