Professional wrestling idol Jim Ross revealed he has been diagnosed with colon cancer.
The 73-year-old went to Instagram to reveal the diagnosis this week and plans to undergo surgery in the next few weeks.
Ross works for all Elite Wrestling, is a part-time commentator and senior consultant and is known for being a long-standing broadcaster of World Wrestling Entertainment.
Ross’ diagnosis came a year after being hospitalized for “short breath” in May last year.
Shortly after Oklahoma was hospitalized, Oklahoma returned to AEW TV and sat down with Bryan Danielson and Swevers Strickland to play the World Championship in front of more than 50,000 fans before the World Championship game at Wembley Stadium.
Ross commented last year on London In: London, which retired two months after his retirement, and Danielson won the AEW World Championship.
Blessings from wrestlers and fans from around the world have come true, including Chris Van Vliet and Major League Baseball wrestling promotions.
Since 1974, Ross has worked for a major professional wrestling company in the United States.
The diagnosis has increased Rose’s health problems in recent years. He had eye surgery in 2018 and had a successful cancer surgery earlier this year.
Ross was initially diagnosed with skin cancer in October 2021, but said he had already had remission by the end of the year.
Ross was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007 and was named a commentator of the Wrestling Observer newsletter 14 times.
