Nollywood actress and movie producer, Etinosa Idemudia has expressed her views on the ongoing discussion over r@pe accusations.
The mother-of-one stressed the need for strict punitive measures against individuals who make false statements.
Speaking on Instagram on Thursday, Etinosa stressed that boys should be protected just like girls. She warned that misleading accusations could ruin people’s lives and stressed that anyone who knowingly spreads false claims should face legal penalties.
She wrote:
“Boys need protection just as much as girls. Stop false accusations today! I recommend jailing those who make false accusations.”
Her statement comes in the wake of the controversy surrounding TikToker Mirabel, who recently made headlines for claiming she was raped in her apartment in Ojiho, Ogun State. Her accusation sparked widespread outrage and calls for justice. However, she later retracted parts of the story, admitting that some details were untrue.
Ogun State Police are continuing to investigate and say legal action may be taken once Mirabel’s medical care is completed.
