A 50-year-old man, Aqil Fakhr al-Din, was attacked in tragic pain and fatal attack by a lion he recently bought and left in the backyard of Najaf, Iraq.
The incident occurred on May 8 in Kufa City.
Local authorities reported that the lion’s sudden attack caused fatal damage before partially consuming the man’s body. A neighbor intervenes and kills the lion with a rifle.
The victim was taken to Al-Sadr Medical City Hospital but was pronounced dead due to the severity of the injury.
The attack has attracted public attention to the legality and safety of keeping wildlife as pets.

In a viral Tiktok video posted by @keyu.mamie, the mother shows a side-by-side comparison of the fashion outfit she requested and the clothing she finally delivered.
According to her, she commissioned a local tailor near her and expected the design to be faithfully reproduced. But she felt frustrated when the end result looked more like a cartoon outfit than the fashionable outfit she envisioned.
