Born with a Nigerian American legacy, Qasim Sowemimo is connected to the melody with anything else. A self-proclaimed music director with a bachelor’s degree in economics.


His love of music grew up in Chicago. Bob Marley, Musiciu Haruna Ishiola, Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, Ayinla Kollington-He deliberately devoured his father’s music collection. At home, he would use household objects to play with his brothers – anything that could produce instruments, anything that could feel the pulse of organic music. Outside, he will participate in talent shows.

Singing at his local mosque Islamic access was early on infamous. He recalls that his voice often makes the congregation cry. At that time he found himself able to move people in his voice, and soon, he would be asked to perform on Eid and at weddings.
This rich musical history shaped Qasim to become his artist today. He believes that the rhythmic influence of Afrobeat is the key to his voice. “I want people to feel me through my musicHe said, pointing to the RNB in the early 2000s. The regretful style of hip-hop, its associated lyricism and ability to capture everyday emotions, also played an important role in his identity as an artist.
