    • Popular Nigerian hip-hop artist Illbliss shares his views on the effectiveness of praying for Nigeria.
    • He recounted his morning mass experience, and an elderly man advised him not to pray for the country.
    • The encounter prompted Ableis to reflect on the ongoing struggle facing Nigeria.

Popular Nigerian hip-hop artist Tobechukwu Melvin Ejiofor (renamed Illbliss) sparked dialogue in revealing why he believed that praying for Nigeria could be futile. The rapper shared his experience at a recent morning mass, with an elderly man making him reluctant to pray for the country.

According to Illbliss, he was reciting Pray for Nigeria During his service, the old man approached him and said that praying for the country was a waste of precious prayer time and could even be seen as ridiculing God. The statements have allowed musicians to think deeply about the reality of the country’s struggle.

Nigeria has been facing many challenges, including economic difficulties, insecurity and poor governance. Many citizens turned to prayer as a source of hope and strength. However, the views shared by older people suggest that instead of relying on God’s intervention, actual change may require direct action by leaders and citizens.

After the encounter, Illbliss went to social media to express his admiration for the Nigerians who continued to survive despite difficulties. He acknowledged his resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity, and realized that life in Nigeria often felt like a tough battle.

His statement has since sparked online discussions, with some agreeing that prayer alone cannot solve the deep-rooted problems in Nigeria, while others believe that faith remains a powerful tool for hope and transformation.

Regardless of opinions, Ableis’ remarks highlighted the frustration of many Nigerians with the state of the country. His message reminds people of resilience and the urgent need for real change in governance and leadership.

He wrote, on his X handle “Scream to everyone who survived Nigeria.

I recited “Praying for Nigeria” in the morning mass this morning, and then the old man next to me smiled and said to me: ‘This is a total waste of time praying with God. You can’t laugh at God. transparent
