Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio was charged for allegedly distributing sexual videos involving minors after being charged with three former youth players at the club.
The 22-year-old football star allegedly solicited a videotape, shot by teammate Ferran Ruiz, 22, Andres Garcia, 22, and Juan Rodriguez, 23, in June 2023, involving a young girl aged 16 and 18 and another young girl, respectively.
The player is accused of “disclosing secrets without consent, breach of privacy, capturing and using minors for pornographic purposes and for minors possessing child pornography, distributing and sending videos without consent.”
Later, the judge later clarified that Asencio has not been accused of recording the video, but is still accused of revealing allegations that the video showed secrets to third parties and child pornography.
Asencio denied the allegations in a long statement Thursday, May 15.
“I have not participated in any violation of any women’s sexual freedom, let alone minors,” he said.
Asencio and three other players were arrested at Real Madrid Training Centre in September 2023 after the 16-year-old’s mother appeared in the video.
At the time, Spanish media reported that one of the football players had a consensus sexual encounter with the young girl before sending the video to other players without her consent.

This was revised after clarification released today by the head of the Court of Investigation No. 3 of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, in which I expressly disseminated from video recordings with sexual content, and from events related to that recording, and public dissemination of information related to the process, I would like the following information, and the following:
‘1. I have not participated in any acts that violate any woman’s sexual freedom, let alone the acts of minors.
“This is confirmed by the ruling issued by the above-mentioned court, which does not accuse me of having sexual relations with the two women involved, nor does it record them with their consent. Likewise, the court order clarified that I am not the one who sends any private images or videos to third parties, and I reiterate that these images or videos were recorded elsewhere outside of where I am.
‘2. In my case, the court orders limit its content to the momentary view of certain images by a third party, without attributing to my recordings or dissemination.
‘3. As the court’s decision clearly stated in the court’s decision, the charges brought against me are strict interim charges. Therefore, the presumption of innocence must continue to prevail. If the charges are finally filed and the trial begins, I will continue to defend myself in courts and in courts, and in courts I am confident to reaffirm the innocence of any crime. All of this is not the greatest respect for the conduct of the entire judicial process, including the conduct of others under investigation.
‘4. I want to reiterate my absolute respect for all women’s right to sexual freedom and privacy. ”
