The House of Representatives has reversed its decision to revoke the vice president and governor immunity.

The move comes after Majority Leader Julius Ihonvbere filed a motion on Thursday, causing lawmakers to reconsider their stance.
The bill has been passed in the second reading with the aim of amending Article 308 of the 1999 Constitution. It proposed to retain immunity for the president but remove it as other senior executive officers.
Just a day earlier, at a plenary meeting on Wednesday, the House of Representatives, led by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, approved the bill for a second reading and sent it to the Constitutional Review Committee for further consideration.
Supporters of the bill, including its sponsor Solomon Bob, believe that immunity to these officials will strengthen the fight against corruption and promote accountability.
