On Tuesday, March 18, the House passed four tax reform bills that were sent to the National Assembly for third reading in October 2024.
The bill has been previously considered and approved by the House Finance Committee, which engages in billing and reviews Nigerian submissions.
Tax reforms have sparked major controversy, especially among northern leaders, Nigerian governors’ forum and other interest groups who have expressed opposition to certain provisions. Despite these concerns, the bill has now passed, paving the way for their final approval.
