Israel Afeare (commonly known as Israel DMW) called on Edo State Governor Okpebholo to resign on Monday and hand over power to Asue Ighodalo, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the last EDO State Governor’s election.
Israel DMW claimed in an Instagram article that most Edo voters elected Ighodalo as governor and claimed that Okpebholo’s government has caused turmoil in the state since taking office.
He wrote: “My dear Governor Okpebholo, I want to beg for special purpose and advise you to resign and hand it over to Asue Ighodalo immediately, most of us really voted for our Mr. Governor.”
He further claimed that the “ancestors” were dissatisfied with the outcome of the election, describing it as “pure robbery” and likened it to the controversial presidential election in Nigeria on June 12, 1993.
“There hasn’t been a peace in the entire state since you took over Mr. The ancestors were totally angry at the pure robbery that took place. Some were too powerful to be deceived. Sometimes sometimes sometimes without success. We know everything you have to do with. We know the true truth of what happened later, like the jazz on June 12, he added.”
Governor Okpebholo, who won under All Progressive Conferences (APCs), has not responded to the statement from the Israeli DMW. The Edo governor election remains a topic of debate, with the opposition raising concerns about its credibility.
