Rivers All Progressive Conference (APC) president Tony Okocha called on state governor Siminalayi Fubara to resign respectfully within 48 hours or be impeached by the state capitol.
Leadership report said Okocha called while talking to journalists at his private residence in the state capital Port Harcourt on Monday morning, March 10. Okocha accused Fubara of insulting President Bola Tinubu, who tried to provide a political solution to the crisis in the state.
“As a party, we are providing advice to the governor today; there are two options, honorable resignation or impeachment. That is the position of the Congress of all Progressives. He disrespects Mr. President, we told him we can’t be here, let him disrespect Mr. President.
The crime is there; the Supreme Court agreed, and even provided us with more evidence. The House of Representatives does not need to form any committee again to investigate him.
48 hours is too much to be the last pass. He should resign gloriously. ”
The Supreme Court ordered the restoration of 26 professional lawmakers who defected from PDP to APC just one week after they defected from PDP.
