The victims are said to return from the holiday celebrations when the tragedy occurs.
In the fatal collision in Gombe State, no less than five people gave up on the ghost.

The accident was reportedly reported when the truck crashed into the Billy local government area of Gombe State.
Witnesses said the incident was confirmed.
“When people (mainly young and children) landed from the hills, a truck full of grain tilled towards Gombe, crushing many people to d3ath”
DSP Buhari Abdullahi confirmed the incident, a spokesman for the state police commander said two men and three women were killed in the accident.

The Gombe State Police Department hopes to inform the public of the tragic incident involving heavy trucks in the Billy local government area today on April 21, 2025. A trailer truck transported the grains along Yola Road to Gombe, losing control due to a brake failure, while approaching a party of Christian believers participating in the parade, who are celebrating the Easter season in Billy’s town,”
“The vehicles deviated from the road and sadly hit the crowd, including some Muslim residents who were observing from the roadside. Police agents from the Billy branch responded quickly to the death, provided immediate rescue work and transported the injured victim to the nearest hospital for emergency medical care.
“Unfortunately, five (5) individuals, including two men and three women, were confirmed dead by medical staff, while eight other women are currently undergoing treatment and are actively responding in federal teaching hospital Gombe and general hospital Billiri
Police Chief Gombe State Command CP Bello Yahaya PSC+ sympathizes with the families of the deceased and prays for the quick recovery of the injured.
“He also assured the public that the district has taken appropriate security measures to prevent further decomposition of law and order. Members of the public are urged to remain law-abiding, avoid holding the law in their hands, and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.”
