
The political crisis in Rivers State has taken a new turn as the state House of Representatives issued a notice on March 17 today against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his vice-president Ngozi ODU. Legislators claim the lawsuit is consistent with the Nigerian constitution.
“Under Article 188 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) and other existing laws, we are signed members of the River State Capitol, hereby forwarding to you to submit a notice of serious misconduct by the Lieutenant Governor of the State of the State in his office functions,”
This is a time when tensions between the governor and the General Assembly in the introduction to the 2025 Appropriations Act.
