The River State High Court, sitting in Harcourt Port, issued a directive that prohibits the public from litigating against the 2 billion Luber lawsuit submitted by the Chief of Staff to Governor of River State Siminialayi Fubara, Edison Ehie.

In a ruling of April 10, 2025, Chairman Judge Jumbo Stephens ordered that no parties involved in the lawsuit or any person involved in the matter make public comments or statements about the subject before the court makes a judgment. The case ended until June 4, 2025, and further litigation was filed.
Ehie filed a 2 billion Luber lawsuit against Nwaeke after the Channels TV broadcast aired, and filed a channel TV on TV, allegedly accusing Ehie of undermining the Hell of Rivers State House of Countate Bousebly Complex and other related allegations.
Ehie sought general damages of $200 billion in his lawsuit and asserted that defamatory statements did not seriously harm his reputation, character and public status.
He further claimed that the publication led to public scandals, prejudice and contempt, which ultimately undermined his integrity in the eyes of the public.
Ehie’s legal team is seeking a permanent injunction to prevent defendants from further posting similar defamatory content.
They also asked the channel television to withdraw its statement immediately and issue a public apology, which should be widely circulated through the Internet and through two nationally recognized newspapers.
The court allowed EHIE to serve the original procedure in the litigation by alternative means. Ehie is authorized to serve Dr. George Nwaeke and publish documents at his residence at 10 Olumeni Street, Harcourt Old Gra.
In addition, the court ordered the provision of NWAEKE through publications in daily newspapers issued nationwide, including in Abuja and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
