The Rivers National Judiciary has denied the report by Chief Justice Simon Amadi and will start annual leave starting from Thursday, March 7, 2025.

The statement reads, “The attention of the Rivers State judiciary has been drawn by the publication of Newsweek Today’s Electronic Media Channel on March 5, 2025, and the title is: ‘Breaking: Rivers State Chief Justice embarks on a year off leave.
“This malicious, misleading, false and unfounded allegations against the individual and office of the Chief Justice of River State by the River State refutes this malicious, misleading, false and unfounded allegations. Judge Simeon Chibuzor Amadi (DSSRS).
“According to records, the Chief Justice has not announced and he has no intention of announcing any adjournment or extending the holiday in any disguise, as such a concept is alien to the holiday calendar of the judicial officer.”
Official holiday schedule for the judiciary
The statement further clarified that the judicial officials’ holiday calendar has established good recognition, including the following Christmas holidays, Easter holidays and annual holidays.
“As the publication’s false claims, there is no provision for any kind of one-year leave holiday.” The chief registrar pointed out.
The River Judiciary calls on authors and publishers of false reports to withdraw their publications immediately or face legal consequences.
He said “It is recommended that the public completely ignore this misleading publication, which is clearly causing reluctance, dissatisfaction and confusion in the state.”
The judiciary’s firm denial was due to the increasing political tensions in the river, with Governor Fobara and the state legislature still locking in the power struggle.
