- Arise News Morning Show co-host Rufai Oseni questioned the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, over the extensive security details of Seyi Tinubu.
- The challenge was presented during a live television segment.
- Oseni’s comments were in response to criticism of Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka over Seitinub’s large security convoy.

Morning Show co-host Rufai Oseni has publicly questioned the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, over the heavy security cover placed on President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.
Oseni made the challenge on live television while responding to comments by Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka, who recently criticized the size of the security convoy accompanying Sei despite growing insecurity across the country.
In a viral post, Oseni questioned the legitimacy of such protection when kidnappings and violent attacks continue to threaten ordinary Nigerians on a daily basis.
GistLover earlier reported Soyinka’s remarks, in which the world-renowned author condemned “excessive” security measures around the president’s son, saying it was inappropriate while citizens remained vulnerable.
Reacting to the controversy, Oseni accused security agencies of abusing public resources for the benefit of political families. He used the phrase “they are born healthy” to challenge authorities’ attempts to reduce Sei’s security presence.
His fiery comments and street-style phrasing quickly sparked widespread debate online.
Co-host Dr. Reuben Abati and other presenters participated in the discussion.
The program also quoted human rights activist Omoyele Sowore as saying that Seyi Tinubu allegedly had more influence than Nigeria’s top security chief.
Sowore wrote in posts on Instagram and Facebook:
“Seyi Tinubu ordered the National Security Agency to detain NANS Chairman Atiku Abubakar Isah for months after he was allegedly brutally treated by Seyi Tinubu’s thugs. It took tremendous pressure and sustained intervention to secure his release. Seyi Tinubu wields more power than the Inspector General (IGP), CDS, DSS More than the National Security Agency (NSA) combined, an unelected authority above the law.”

@folatush01: “I don’t support the government oh but hope the words used by Rufai are not so difficult for a governor as they are born to be good to me, Rufai is supposed to be professional and he always forgets his job, do you have a personal grudge with Seyi or the governor? If not for hatred, why would you say they should withdraw security from the whole president’s son like this?”
