The Nigerian House of Representatives revoked two important bills, just the day after two important bills were conducted – one reviews the death penalty law and another proposes the withdrawal of immunities of the vice president, governor and deputy governor.
Naija News The report said the news was published by House leader Professor Julius Ihonvbere at a plenary meeting on Thursday, indicating a reconsideration of the proposed legislation.
It is worth recalling that on Wednesday, both bills successfully passed the second reading, part of 42 legislative proposals during the meeting.
Presiding the plenary meeting without a speaker Tajudon Abbassecondary speaker Benjamin Kalu Explained that reversal is necessary to allow lawmakers to have a more comprehensive discussion.
“We want to apologize to the sponsors of the bill, but this move is to enable the House to debate further, taking into account the importance of the subject matter,” Karu said.
