
Police confirmed on Sunday, March 16 that security agents have successfully thwarted the alleged bandit attack in the Danmusa local government area of Casina.
Katsina State Police spokesman DSP Abubakar Sadiq revealed in a statement that the operation was conducted in partnership with the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Katsina State Community Observation Army (KSCWC) on Saturday, March 15.
According to him, the bandits were ready to attack the village of Dan Gaoku before the security forces took intellectual action. He said security agents immediately attacked Maijele Mountain, which was gathered by suspected bandits, resulting in a fierce gun showdown. One of the armed bandits was neutralized, while several other armed bandits were injured and escaped.
Security personnel used ammunition to recover the AK-47 rifle, a motorcycle, suspected Indian marijuana, soft drinks, knives and dangerous drugs.
Police Commissioner CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa praised the professionalism and heroism of the operators and reiterated the order’s commitment to ensuring life and property. He assured residents that the state’s security agencies remain committed to ensuring peace and stability.
