The Senate and House of Representatives postponed the resumption of the plenary session.
Nigeria News Nalin The report said that the Senate and the House of Representatives have officially postponed their plenary session from Monday, April 29, 2025 to Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
This was sent on April 20 by the Senate, Andrew Ogbonna Nwoba and clerk Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, and addressed all members of all respective Chambers.
Both weapons from the National Assembly were initially adjourned on March 27, 2025 to get lawmakers to participate in Easter and Sarah celebrations. The latest postponement is intended to allow lawmakers to stay in the constituency during the International Workers’ Day public holiday in early May.
In a memorandum to the Senators, Nwoba said: “Outstanding Senator, I am instructed to inform you that the recovery plan for the plenary session of the Senate was held on Monday, April 29, 2025, has been rescheduled on Monday, April 29, 2025 and has been scheduled to Tuesday, May 6, 2025, which is an outstanding candidate to participate.”
He also expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the change.
In the corresponding communication, Dr. Danzaria pointed out in his memorandum of House members: “I instruct you to inform you that the resumption of the plenary session of the House of Representatives has been rescheduled on Monday, April 29, 2025 on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.”
He explained that the adjustment is consistent with the representative mandate of the house, aiming to strengthen constituency relations during the holidays.
Both clerks urged members to pay attention to the new date and take corresponding actions.
This extension of the recession means that the National Assembly will now be a full week behind the legislative business before its early plans.
