Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello of planning to assassinate her.
Akpoti-uduaghan spoke at a return-to-school rally on Tuesday, April 1, telling her supporters that she had formally reported the matter to the police inspector general despite not publicly revealing the alleged conspiracy.
She detailed the incident, claiming that Akpabio initially contacted Kogi Governor Usman Ododo, urging him to begin the recall process. Ododo reportedly rejected her strong grassroots support, and Akpabio allegedly reached out to Bello and promised to fund the recall.
“At around 10:30 pm on March 14, I received a call from Gove Yahaya Bello at Akpabio. Please note that two days before this, Akpabio called Governor Ododo on the phone and he should start recalling me, but Governor Ododo told him that it was impossible because the masses were with her. The people are with her.
Akpabio is not satisfied. He then sent Yahaya Bello, actually Senator Asuquo from Cross Rivers, to drive Yahaya Bello from Hilton Hotel. I was told everything. The meeting was divided into two parts. They told him to start my recall and he would fund it. Of course, that night changed hands.
The second thing he told him was that he should try to kill me. I didn’t make this public, but I went to the police’s IG. Akpabio tells Yahaya Bello that he should make sure that K will not happen in Abuja!
