    • Actor and film producer Yomi Fabiyi has clarified that his support for Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner Imisi is based on loyalty and mentorship and not personal or financial gain. Fabiyi described himself as a father figure to Imisi, revealing that she had been a student of his at film school and had supported him long before she became famous. He added that despite past experiences with ingratitude, he remained committed to doing the right thing and not letting negativity influence his behavior.

Nollywood actor and film producer, Yomi Fabiyi, has explained that his public support for Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner Imisi stems from true loyalty and gratitude rather than personal gain or financial gain.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, Fabiyi revealed that his relationship with Imisi started long before she became famous, describing himself as her “father figure” in the film industry.

He said: “I am an adult and she is like a father figure to her in the film industry. She is the only housemate I know personally. She supports me in everything I do. For example, when I had my housewarming, she was with me throughout and made sure the event ran smoothly. Supporting her during the show was simply the right thing to do.”

Fabiyi further revealed that Imisi’s entertainment journey started under his guidance. “Imisi was one of my students at film school and apart from that, she has always been supportive of me and my son. We used to live in the same area of Korodu and she has been helping since before she became famous,” he said.

Asked if he had any reservations about publicly supporting her given that some of the people he had helped turned against him, Fabiyi said he did not allow those experiences to influence his behavior.

“I wouldn’t consider such a thing. Of course, in today’s world of social media, some people distance themselves from those who have helped them just to appear self-made. They don’t want anyone to have bragging rights about their success,” he explained.

The actor emphasized that he was not bothered by such attitudes, saying: “Whatever the level of ingratitude, I will not let it get to me. I will continue to do the right thing.”
