Simon Ekpa will not be deported to Nigeria until he ends the case in Finland, FG said.

The federal government gave the reason why Mr. Simon Ekpa, who was not extradited and detained in Finland, returned to Nigeria to prosecute.

The federal government announced on Thursday, May 8 that Biavran political activist Simeon Ekpa will not be re-handed to Nigeria until the case is concluded in Finland.

Through the Federal Attorney General and Attorney General, Prince Sanif Figebemi, Prince Sanif Fitbemi, revealed that Ekpa committed a cross-border crime and he also needed to be tried in Finland.

Fagbemi said on the deputy line of a plan in Abuja that the detained Biyafra mixer would return to Nigeria after the legal proceedings already filed against him by the Finnish government.

He said: “In the case of Simon Ekpa, I want you to know that he committed a cross-border crime. He violated the law in Finland and Nigeria.

“He was arrested there and the Finnish authorities wanted to deal with the situation first and then release him to us.

“So we will allow them to finish the engagement there and then hand him over to us.”
