The Kaduna State commander of the Nigerian Police Force has detained six people believed to have kidnapped in various operations across the state.
Commander’s Public Relations Officer, SSIR Hassanannounced this information in a statement, indicating that the suspect was captured in the TAFA of the Kagalco Local Government Area (LGA), Saminaka (Le) and Ikara LGA (Ikara LGA).
A suspect, Isa Ibrahim, was arrested on Thursday, April 17, 2025 while seeking asylum in Gida Abe, the statement shows.
During the inquiry, the 30-year-old suspect admitted to being part of a kidnapping gang run in Kwara State.
He further revealed that his accomplices were recently arrested in Kwara, prompting him to move to Kaduna and plan to form a new gang.
In addition, two other suspected kidnappers, Sani Liman and Murtala Magaji, were arrested on the same day in Lamido village in Lair, who also admitted to participating in multiple kidnappings in the area.
On Friday, April 18, 2025, police arrested two alleged gunmen from the Ikara Local Council, who were allegedly found with guns.
The suspect Bajo, a resident of Magaji Abdullahi of Jos, Plateau State, Plateau State University, and Kano State, was found to be hidden by two locally made AK-47 rifles.
Additionally, during a routine inspection along Kauru-Pambegua Road, the police patrol captured another group of suspicious gunmen, where two locally made rifles were found hidden in a sack.
The statement confirmed that all suspects are currently in police custody and are working with ongoing investigations to provide critical information. Efforts are being strengthened to locate and understand other accomplices that still exist.
