Nigerian rapper Skales called GTBANK the worst bank in Nigeria in the controversy over “Extreme War”.
In an ongoing question involving EFCC, GTBank and Immant Suptialdarkman, he made this claim in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Skales’ comments were reported to have been arrested at the GTBank location in the case of alleged delays, which upset his fans.
Skales in his post recounts Gtbank’s frequent unauthorized deductions from his late mother’s salary account, which led him to reimburse her and convince her not to take action.
He also accused the bank of being inappropriate until she retired.
He wrote: “GTB @gtbank is a terrible bank…the worst bank in Nigeria. I hope my late mom is alive and tells you what they did to her salary…how her money was lost, I had to beg her because she wouldn’t quit because she wouldn’t quit until she retires…don’t retire with GTBANK.”
His posts have since sparked widespread reactions, with many users participating in the comment section sharing similar complaints and experiences.

@bdraugur: “I firmly believe they have retired from banking. I started banking with them in 2006. Unfortunately, the relationship is about to end. It’s fun and lasting, and it’s a shame.”
@plato_vince: “My account is still read very little because I woke up one morning and borrowed 300k of the debit alert from my account. After all, they kept insisting I insisted I bought something online. When they realized that wasn’t working, the lady said it was a delayed debit.
@samuelfinder: “Waseere said it out loud. @zenithbank is also a useless bank. After my father passed away, this person was account from what I tried to withdraw the money.”
@accurateofical: “So, why are you talking now?”
@__ CD2: “I opened a GT bank a few weeks ago and thank God, I didn’t start using it.”
@mattmax01: “The same thing happened to mine, I even stayed with her and opened it then.
@everytin_bec: “How can you say not to store with @gtbank, you can only say what happened to your mom’s account, but don’t say not to save money. Did you forget you are a brand?”
