The Gunner is suspected to be a cult person and has worked at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).
The Daily Trust reported Tuesday that the gunman attacked the hospital on Friday, April 25, 2025 and shot the dead at close range, simply identified as Alex Ogunniyi.
According to the gathering, during the incident, patients in the hospital were in trouble for safety.
On Monday, some health workers protested the murder of their colleagues in hospital facilities.
Protesters called on safety agencies to fish perpetrators and protect other health workers from entering and leaving the hospital.
UBTH spokesman Joshua Uwaila confirmed the incident, saying hospital authorities had reported the incident to the security agency.
“A physical therapist at Benin Teaching Hospital was shot dead on Friday,” he said.
