
Sukoto Sultan and President of the Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), the Supreme Council of Nigeria, his outstanding Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, described social media as a “terrorist organization” that must be dealt with with to maintain national security.
Speaking at the 17th Executive Committee meeting of the Northern Traditional Ruling Commission in Maiduguri, Borno State on Tuesday, Sudan lamented the role of social media in spreading misinformation and inciting unrest across the country.
“What happened happened. It can’t come through social media, right? It’s a terrorist organization… social media.
They do…someone will sit in his comfort zone and make stories and you’ll think it’s true. So social media is a terrorist organization that we have to deal with. Security agencies must deal with the terrorist group called social media. ”
