- Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has criticized Tenubu activist Omoyele Sowore.
- In an interview with News Center, Fayose accused Tinubu of trying to silence dissenting voices, arguing that Sowore was fighting for justice and the welfare of Nigerians, including police officers.
- He questioned why peaceful protests were suppressed under Tinubu’s rule, comparing the situation to the era of former President Goodluck Jonathan, when Tinubu was allowed to protest freely.

Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has condemned President Bola Tinubu’s arrest of human rights activist Omoyele Sowore.
Sowore was arrested on Thursday at the Federal High Court in Abuja, shortly after he expressed solidarity with detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.
In an interview with News Center, Fayose expressed disappointment at the activist’s detention and accused President Tinubu of trying to silence critics.
According to him, Sowore has always been the voice of justice and advocated for the welfare of police officers, including their pension and emoluments, but the same officers were used to arrest him.
He said, “No, look, the police and law enforcement we have now are all cash and carry. They could take me away tomorrow and I don’t care because they are suffering. There are people who are fighting for you to be a better person, for you to get your pension, for your rights, but you are still serving your slave masters.
“Abroad, the protests were peaceful. Why are there all the roadblocks, shootings and intimidation here? Millions of Nigerians agree with Sowore. Did former President Goodluck Jonathan arrest Tinubu when he was outside of power? Jonathan allowed him to protest freely. So why is Tinubu trying to hurt us now?
“Omoyele Sowore has done what is necessary. He has gone out to demand our rights. Any Nigerian who refuses to demand his rights is committing a crime against God and humanity.”
Fayose went on to describe Sowore as a true patriot and hero, urging Nigerians not to abandon those who speak out for justice.
He added, “Omoyele Sowore is our hero. We don’t have another hero.”
