
Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto, has urged Nigerians not to resort to insults to express their dissatisfaction to their leaders.
“It is best to always tell our leaders, but to avoid doing so, we should avoid abuse of speech. ” he said.
“If you insult your leader, how do you ask him to do something for you?
“But if you tell him your problem in a polite way, I’m sure he will listen to you and even do what you need.”
Sudan conveyed his Sallah message shortly after observing the two units Eid-El-Fitr prayers at Fakon Idi on Sunday, urging Nigerians to continue praying for leaders at all levels.
“Pray for Mr. President, for your governor, for your local government president, and for your legislators so that God can mercy on them and assist them in their responsibilities.
“You should also continue to pray for peace, development and prosperity in our state and the country as a whole,” he said.
However, Sultan Sa’ad, President of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs in Nigeria, congratulated Muslims on their successful completion of the 29-day Ramadan fast and warned them to maintain the virtues of the Holy Moon in subsequent transactions.
He advised: “Don’t go back to what you did before Ramadan.”
He further praised the Islamic missionaries for maintaining etiquette during their Ramadan Tafsir, urging them to keep pace in the subsequent preaching.
