
The Sudan Council of Soco instructed the Muslim community to observe the crescent moon of Sha’aban 1446 AH on Wednesday, January 29, corresponding to the 29th day of Rajab 1446 AH in the Islamic calendar.
The instruction was issued by the professor in a statement issued on Tuesday. Sambo Junaidu, Waziri of Sokoto, Chairman of the Religious Affairs Consultation Committee.
The statement urges that once you see the Crescent, the report should be submitted to the nearest region or rural head to communicate with the Sugo Sultan Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar for official confirmation.

Seeing Shabang’s crescent moon in Islam has religious significance, because it marks the sacred moon that fasts before the month before fasting. The statement helps Muslim’s faithful fasting.
