The Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP) scholarship is open to international students to pursue a master’s degree in Sweden. The Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP) program is part of the Swedish Government’s international awards program and aims to develop global leaders who contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is funded by the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and managed by the Swedish Institute (SI).
Starting from the autumn semester 2023, 300 scholarships are expected to be available for full-time master’s studies in Sweden. Typically, 1-2% of applicants receive SISGP scholarships.

To be eligible for the Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP), candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
How to Apply for Swedish Scholarships for International Students
Please follow the instructions below to apply for the Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals (SISGP):
(1). Apply for master’s degree programs at universityadmissions.se between October 17, 2023 and January 16, 2023. Only master’s programs on the master’s program list are eligible to participate in the SISGP. Please follow the instructions below.
- First, apply to up to four eligible master’s programs at Universityadmissions.se before January 16, 2023.
- Once you have submitted your application for a master’s program at universityadmissions.se, you will receive a personal eight-digit application number. Save this number as you will need it when applying for SISGP.
- February 10, 2023 is the deadline to receive application fees and supporting documentation required for admission to the University. Application fees are non-refundable.
- If you miss deadlines or fail to follow the application process for college admissions, you will not be eligible for the SI Scholarship.
- Eligibility and application procedures for SI scholarships and university admissions are different.
(2). To apply for SI scholarships between February 10 and 28, 2023, please follow the instructions below.
- After completing the master’s program application, you can apply for SI scholarships. Please see above for more information on required documents and forms.
- Submit required documents digitally through our online application portal during the application period from February 10 to 28, 2023.
- The online application portal is open from 00:00 CET on 10 February 2023 to 23:59 CET on 28 February 2023. During the application period, the online application portal can be accessed via the following page.
Required documents:
- Motivation Letter: You must complete your 2022/2023 motivation letter using the SISGP form.
- A Resume (CV): Your resume must use the SISGP template and your resume should not exceed the number of pages specified in the template. Additional pages will not be considered.
- Two different letters of recommendation: You must use the SISGP form for your letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be based on your work experience. It would be a plus if the second letter of recommendation is based on your involvement in a network or civil society organization outside of your day job. The letter should be signed by the referee and stamped with the official seal of the recommended institution or notary. The form should be typed, printed, signed and stamped; then uploaded as a PDF file.
- Proof of work and leadership experience: You must use the SISGP form to demonstrate work and leadership experience. The work and leadership form should be signed by the referee and stamped with the official seal of the recommended unit or notary agency. The form should be typed, printed, signed and stamped; then uploaded as a PDF file.
- Passport copy: must clearly show your personal data including name, nationality and photo. A copy of your passport should be included with your resume as the last page. It is your responsibility to ensure you have a copy of your valid passport to include
