    • Victor Boniface reacts as the 15-year-old sells his talented boots – a missed opportunity?
    • Fan Debate: Is it a wise or expensive decision to sell Boniface boots?
    • From Football Boots to Essentials – How a boy turns Boniface’s gift into cash.

Super Hawks star Victor Boniface couldn’t help but find a 15-year-old boy selling them for $100 (N153,000).

The young guy got his boots in the 2025 match against Rwanda after the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda on March 21, 2025, where the Super Eagles celebrated a stable 2-0 victory.

Instead of using the boots as a precious souvenir, the boy decided to sell them to buyers in Rwanda.

A recently released video captures him frankly sharing the cash he traded his boots, which he then uses to buy bikes, school uniforms and bags.

Victor Boniface’s reaction to the boy selling boots

After hearing the news, Bayern Leverkusen’s striker entered social media and responded in a playful way.

Boniface jokingly demanded a 10% share to be sold, surprised by the boy’s decision.

    He tweeted:

“Abeg, let Una find this boy for me. Let him throw 10% of the money.”

Boniface further teases that if he played the boy’s jersey, he might also sell it.

Reactions from fans and social media users

This revelation sparked conversations among football fans, and many people weighed whether the boy made the right choice.

    User @v_o_akwaibom wrote:

“People said the decision was bad…I laughed.

    Meanwhile, @johnjaydee4945 points out:

“The Rwandan buyer hit him a quick buyer. The boot is worth at least $500 in the market.”

    Another fan @idjesanuvie added:

“I don’t think it was a bad decision at the time. He desperately needed the money. The only mistake was that he didn’t have an adult agent for him.”

Is it wise to sell Boniface boots?

While some believe the boy’s decision to jump the gun, others believe his urgent needs make sales a reasonable choice.

Given the financial difficulties and hunger many face in Africa, it’s easy to see why he prioritizes key points over sentimental things.

But if he sticks to these boots, they may gain value, especially if Boniface’s career keeps rising.

Signed souvenirs from top soccer players often become collectors’ treasures, worth mentioning.

    The final thought

Victor Boniface’s response to the whole situation shows his kind character, turning what could have been a tough moment into something light.

Whether the boy made the right choice or not, it was definitely one thing-the story attracted fans and sparked some lively discussion.

Will you sell your boots or will you keep them in their potential future value? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
