Singer Tems officially became one of the owners of the top MLS team San Diego Football Club through her latest partnership.
Official reports have now confirmed that Grammy Award-winning singer and performer Tems has now joined the club ownership group of popular MLS team San Diego Football Club.
The club announced on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 that Tems has officially joined the ownership group of the San Diego Football Club as the club partner.
Through this move, she became the first African woman to become part of the MLS ownership group.
The Nigerian singer-writer producer said she expressed her excitement in the press release, he said “I’m excited to join the ownership group of San Diego Football Club and be part of a club that celebrates creativity, culture and community power. According to Billboard, TEMS partnered with Pave Investments, an African private investment firm, which previously brought a group of strategic investors to NBA Africa in 2021. The company’s founding director Kwamena Afful will also join the ownership structure of the San Diego Football Club.

Her involvement, along with other new investors, will help promote the dream dream academy’s goal (a youth football development program), while also supporting the broad commitment of San Diego Football Club to empower the on-site and venue communities.
