Grammy Award-winning Nigerian music star, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has opened up about what she admires most about her fellow artist and frequent collaborator, Wizkid.
The world-famous singer recently revealed her appreciation for Wizkid during a Q&A session with fans on social media platform X.
When a fan asked “What’s one thing you love about BigWiz?” Teems gave a concise and heartfelt answer that focused on the star’s personal qualities and professional dedication.
She wrote:
“His heart, his work ethic.”
Tems and Wizkid share a significant career history, particularly the hit song “Essence,” which became a global phenomenon and contributed to Tems’ international breakthrough.
In other news… Edo State Governor Okpebholo on Monday made a dramatic statement and vowed to resign if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu fails to secure victory in Edo State during the 2027 presidential elections.
The Governor made this promise in an interview with veteran journalist Babajide Otitoju, claiming that the political climate in Edo State had decisively shifted in favor of Tinubu.
Governor Okpebolo attributed the success of his administration to the influence of the President, claiming that Tinubu’s popularity in the state now surpasses his own. He expressed absolute confidence in the expected results in 2027:
“I tell you. You will see the results coming from here because there is no opposition here in Edo.”
After the interviewer warned against making such dramatic promises, the governor doubled down on his promise:
“If Asiwaju does not win here, I will resign as governor. I tell you. I am the one who told you. There is no election for him here. My brother, forget it.”
The governor dismissed the opposition, especially supporters of former governor Godwin Obaseki and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He claims Obaseki’s record will prevent him from entering politics:
“You can’t trick Edo into coming back here…His poor record won’t let him come.”
Okpebolo attributed Tinubu’s victory to federal infrastructure projects such as flyovers and road construction, which he claimed were highly valued by Edo residents. He also dismissed Labor’s relevance in the state’s current political structure.
Governor Okpebolo described his own political style: “My style is not brutality. It’s grassroots. You don’t see me with the elite; you see me with the average guy on the street.”
