3 Division/Works of Operation Haven smashed a car robbery group and in the highland state with the notorious armed robbers.
Operation Safe Haven, a media information officer for Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, April 29, 2025.
“On April 28, 2025, the 3rd Division/Works Haven forces snatched a car in Joss, Plateau State. The troops intercepted an ashes Opel Vectra while patrolling around the federal low-cost estate in the local government area of Joss, and fled the driver, but he stopped.
“However, when questioning the occupants of the car, the driver tried to shrink and cover the troops’ patrol motorcycles, but the troops’ behavior quickly neutralized the driver of the vehicle.
“During the preliminary questioning of the surviving suspects, he admitted that they were armed robbers who specialize in robbing vehicles, adding that he returned to Jos from Cassina on April 27, 2025 to engage in robbing cars.
“When searching the vehicle, the troops took back an ID card from the security agency used by criminals to evade security checks, as well as some car owner keys used to open the victim’s car.
“In addition, the troops followed up the hiding place of the suspect in Corner Shagari Angwan Rogo in Jos North Lga, Plateau State, where a fabricated pistol was restored from the ceiling of the hiding place. The suspect also volunteered to take the troops to another hiding place with the same level.
“However, while leading the troops to the hiding place, the suspect boldly tried to disarm one of the soldiers to achieve his escape, but the troops acted quickly and neutralized the suspect in the process. The troops are in action to identify and arrest other accomplices of the criminal group.
“Operation Safe Haven is strengthening efforts to cut off criminals in all forms and ensure safety for law-abiding residents.”
