- Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo of David Christian Center urged women to stop relying on men for financial support, stressing that the idea is cultural, not biblical.
- He noted that the Bible teaches self-reliance through work and warned of the risk of women who reduce their financial standards to be respected.
- According to him, true value comes from independence, not on the survival of men.

Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, founder of the David Christian Center, warned women not to obtain financial support based on men.
He explained that this expectation stems from culture, not from the Bible, which emphasizes that the Bible adheres to the principle of striving for a living, rather than relying on others to meet their own needs.
He said: “This will never be partial to you. That thing is a cultural idea. It’s not biblical.
“A man should take care of a woman. It’s not the Bible. The Bible says that he shouldn’t eat if he doesn’t work. Well, how are you doing before you get married? Before you have a boyfriend, before you have a boyfriend, before you have a fiancé, you survived? That’s the problem.
“As I said, all these conversations are talks by the poor. Look, someone who has a wealthy parent who raises them,
They will send you to the best schools.
You will complete the best school and you will get one of the best jobs. They won’t let you roam with a boy to pay for you. A boy bought a puff and he would squeeze you like a puff.
Some of you treat it because of how you judge yourself. If you don’t buy me popcorn, I won’t come. Then, they will pop up your way like corn. They are feeling shame for your family. ”
