
The Bauchi State Police Department has arrested a doctor, a pharmacist and two other suspects in connection with a 20-year-old security guard, Polmi Dauda.
The commander’s spokesman, CSP, Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, revealed this in a statement on Sunday, March 23, saying the investigation revealed that he had suffered serious injuries due to serious injuries after a dispute with the suspect arrested near the Larema Hotel, where he served as a security guard.
According to PPRO, the battle may have been caused by theft allegations against the deceased.
“The Bauchi State Police Department is working to investigate the unfortunate D3ATH of 20-year-old security guard Polmi Dauda, which is considered a potential case that may cause homicide crimes,” the statement said.
“On March 22, 2025, at about 12:50 pm, the victim’s brother, Mr. Danda Dauda, reported to the Bauchi Metropolitan Command. He then mentioned the case to the E-department Police Headquarters Yelwa for a thorough investigation.
“Mr. Dota reported that Pormi was seriously injured due to a dispute with several people near the Larema Hotel.
“Although medical staff responded quickly at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (Atbuth), Polmi was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the facility.
“Preliminary investigations suggest that the dispute may be due to allegations involving clothing and personal belongings belonging to the tenant.
“The individuals involved—identified as Ibrahim Yahaya, a pharmacist at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi (ATBUTH); Musa Awwal, a medical doctor at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi;(ATBUTH) Imrana Ibrahim, a local businessman; and Zakariya’u Isah, another security guard—are believed to have Conspired to face Pormi, resulting in a regrettable result.
“In view of this incident, police have taken the suspect into custody and provided critical information to assist in the ongoing investigation. The remains of the deceased have been stored in the post-mortem at Atbuth Mortuary.
“The Police Commissioner has directed the State Department of Criminal Investigation (SCID) to fully analyze the case to ensure a thorough inspection of all aspects.
“The Commissioners are firmly committed to achieving justice and urge the public to remain calm and maintain legal conduct during the investigation.”
