Doctors announced that Pope Francis was no longer in danger of DE@TH due to double pneumonia, which left him hospitalized for nearly a month.
The 88-year-old pope has been at Gemelli Hospital since February 14 and suffers from severe respiratory infections that require continuous development of treatment. He has remained stable and has shown improvement in recent days.
The Vatican said the pope’s doctors have decided to mention an early “guard” prognosis, which means the pope is no longer in danger.
“As confirmed by blood tests and clinical evaluations, the improvements recorded in the previous few days have further synthesized, and a good response to his medication,” it said.
But despite doctors lifting the prognosis of “guarding”, the Vatican said on Monday it expects the pope “to continue medical medication in a hospital setting.”
It is not clear when he will be discharged from the hospital.
Francis has never been seen since entering the hospital, the longest absence he has been in as the pope.
Last week, he recorded a short audio message that was played during the nightly prayer service of the Pope in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.
He said in Spanish native Spanish: “I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers in the square.” “May God bless you.”
