The famous political strategist Doyin Okupe is dead.

Nigeria News Nalin It is reported that former presidential spokesman and famous political strategist Dr. Doyin Okupe has passed away.

His death was confirmed on Friday.

The details surrounding his death were not clear when filling out this report.

Okupe, 72, is the special assistant to media and publicity for President Olusegun Obasanjo and is also the senior special assistant to public affairs for President Goodluck Jonathan.

He is also the Director-General of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential election.

However, his political journey was marked by controversy.

In December 2022, Okupe resigned after being convicted of money laundering.

He was once detained by General Sani Abacha and subsequently disqualified from participating in the primaries of the Nigerian Congress Party (UNCP), a former governor of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State.
