Hygiene simply refers to behaviors that improve cleanliness and lead to good health, such as frequent hand washing, face washing and bathing with soap and water.

In many parts of the world, it is difficult to enforce personal hygiene etiquette due to the lack of clean water and soap. Many diseases may spread if the hands, face, or body are not properly washed at critical times.

Good hygiene can also be called personal hygiene, health hygiene or personal care.

4 reasons why you need good hygiene

    1) Prevent disease

Good hygiene reduces your risk of diseases and diseases that are usually transmitted by viruses and bacteria. Your hands will come into contact with bacteria every time you cough, use the bathroom, touch a pet, or touch a surface such as a stair railing.

Failure to wash hands regularly and the body can cause this bacteria to multiply, thereby increasing the risk of infection and other health problems. Washing yourself and keeping it clean can kill and remove bacteria that cause disease from your body, reducing the risk of disease.

Good hygiene is key to preventing infections in the presence of wounds and skin irritation. Poor hygiene can cause dirt and other bacteria to enter and stay inside skin wounds, and good hygiene can prevent this bacteria from being infected. Good hygiene can prevent you from spreading bacteria and disease to others, including colleagues and family.

    2) Social and professional acceptance

It can be unpleasant to spend time around those who fail to show good hygiene due to factors such as bad breath and body odor, which increases your own risk of illness and infection. Poor hygiene can negatively affect your social life and relationships, including business relationships.

Many employers urge or require employees to practice good hygiene and tend to hire people who look clean as if they practice healthy hygiene habits. Good hygiene is especially important for employers in the food and medical industry, as poor hygiene habits can lead to pollution and the spread of disease.

Children who practice good hygiene can avoid being bullied at school because evidence shows that hygiene poverty is one of the biggest reasons for children to be bullied. Parents who teach children the importance of good hygiene instill healthy habits in their lives and prevent them from experiencing problems with bullies.

    3) Higher confidence and self-esteem

Clean and tidy can help you become more confident and comfortable physically and mentally. Feeling dirty, greasy and unfavorable will not only put your physical health at risk, but will also cause negative emotions of discomfort, irritability and anxiety. Poor hygiene can affect your emotions, interactions with others, and how you feel about yourself.

Good hygiene can enhance your confidence and self-esteem, making you more positive and attractive to others.[5] Good hygiene can indirectly improve your success at work, in the gym and in situations where you need to be at your best.

    4) Prevent pain

Practicing good hygiene can prevent you from suffering from painful illnesses and infections. Having chronic pain can reduce your overall quality of life and even lead to comorbidities such as obesity and painkiller addiction. Good hygiene can help you maintain a good overall health, so you can avoid pain caused by certain medical conditions.

Failure to brush and floss regularly increases the risk of gum disease, which can lead to its late chronic pain and tooth loss. After exercising, staying in damp, sweaty socks for several hours increases the risk of athletes’ feet, which can lead to fungal nail infections that cause pain and inflammation under the nails.

Good hygiene helps prevent the development of medical conditions like this and can make you feel healthy and painless.

The importance and benefits of good hygiene

    Understand good hygiene

Good hygiene is essential for good overall health and wellness as it helps reduce the risk of illness, disease and medical conditions due to the effects of poor hygiene.

When a person does not engage in good hygiene habits, their bodies accumulate bacteria that can cause diseases such as athletes’ feet, head lice, and Sworms.

Unhealthy hygiene can also cause parasites to grow and reproduce in the skin and body, leading to parasitic diseases such as malaria and toxoplasmosis.

Good personal hygiene habits include brushing teeth, bathing or showering, and wearing clean clothes. Establish these habits daily or as often as needed and maintain good hygiene and cleanliness.

    Good hygiene risks

There is no risk in practicing good hygiene. On the other hand, poor hygiene increases the risk of bacterial, viral and parasite infections. Severe medical conditions that may represent poor hygiene include gastroenteritis, food poisoning, hepatitis B, influenza, common cold, giardia, roundworms and the worms. Good hygiene can help you avoid possible risks associated with poor hygiene.

The human body can provide a place for disease-causing bacteria and parasites to grow and reproduce. These places include the skin and the openings of the body. If people have good personal hygiene habits, bacteria and parasites are less likely to enter the body.

    What will good health expect

Practicing good hygiene requires you to regularly perform a series of basic personal hygiene habits. Clean the body and hair regularly to remove bacteria and dead skin cells.

Brush your teeth after each meal, or at least twice a day. Floss and brushing regularly help prevent bacteria from accumulating in the mouth, thereby increasing the risk of gum disease.

Wash your hands each time before eating or preparing food, and cough or sneeze and remove the garbage after contacting the bathroom with bacteria and viruses. Trim your nails and toenails regularly and take measures to ensure your feet are always clean and dry.

Good hygiene can help you stay healthy and bring countless positive benefits to your physical, emotional and mental health.
