A businessman, Alhaji Balan Auwal Mai Gwanjo, was imprisoned for two months and was kidnapped by armed bandits in the Malumfashi local government area of Katsina State.
The deceased was kidnapped with his son Saifolah in the attack on the town of Malumfashi on February 26, 2025.
Sources confirmed that the family received a heartbreaking call from his kidnapper on Sunday, May 11, informing them of his D3ATH.
The bandits rushed into the area, shot sporadically, and fought fierce gun battles with security forces.
Despite the efforts of security personnel, the attackers succeeded in kidnapping the old man and his son.
It is not clear whether the son has been released or remains in prison.
